Description

The Evening Star, Venus in the sky during and after sunset, representative of femininity-- this necklace is a gorgeous study in contrast. Pearls, bone, rock and metal have all found their ways into a design that mimics the complex colors of the fading sun and the rising moon-- pinks, yellows, paling blues and darkening greys.

Alphonse Mucha (1860-1939) produced a flurry of paintings, posters and illustrations, as well as designs for jewellery, carpets, wallpaper, and theatre sets in what became known as Art Nouveau (French for 'new art').  

He has always been a favorite of mine and this collection focuses on him and another current obsession-- the use of color.
