Susan Slapin lives on an island in the Pacific Northwest; primarily a visual artist working in printmaking & painting~along with photography...and poetry.

I love taking photographs! Place, people, flowers, this beautiful Earth. I look to capture the unique, human and natural moments during gatherings & celebrations. People are naturally reflected in photographic keepsakes; treasures for years to come. A beautiful setting helps create a lovely image, but anyone can shine from the inside; when the heart is pure, the expression radiates.

Susan's world is much about ART, Nature, creativity, education & authenticity. Art degree from Marylhurst University in Oregon, with an emphasis in printmaking, painting, & photography. Drawing, Painting, Printmaking, and Doing Photography for decades. Experience includes working at The Academy of Arts and Sciences archiving the old black & white film photographs. Art Institute in San Francisco as a lithography major.

The beauty of Nature, the spiritual realm, and the sensory world are ultimate inspirations and connection. The love for color and it's inherent brilliance became apparent at an early age. Susan's work has received numerous awards & resides in both private and public collections. The Northwest Museum of Art in La Conner, Washington, and Island Museum in Friday Harbor have both exhibited Slapin's paintings & photography.

Paintings are contemporary- relatively abstract colorfields. Both original work and some giclee' prints are available.
