Easy Button Rock Glows in the Dark and Free Shipping

Everybody needs an Easy Button Rock at least once a day. Give one to your special valentine. Keep one on your desk or kitchen table, within reach. Yes. It is just a painted rock. But not just any rock....this one was found in a river, worn wise with the passage of time. All that time spent underwater; tumbled by spring floods and stilled by winter ice...it adds up. This rock is imbued with the music of the spheres so that just holding it, or pressing it, will yield results. When you need a fast serving of *Easy* go directly to your Easy Button Rock. In dire times, turn it over to the super charged *Really Easy* setting.

Sure, you could buy one of the plastic ones at the big box office supply store, but they don't have the magic in them that this river rock has. And, besides, this one glows in the dark.

Each of the three choices here fits into the palm of my hand. Let me know which one is yours. After you pick one of these three for yourself, pick one for your friend.

GiftShipper: I will gift wrap, enclose a card with your greeting and mail this directly to your recipient. Free Shipping too; how easy is that?

This is a Gift that Keeps on Giving. I will donate a portion of proceeds to my local CodePink Women for Peace.

$15.00

Cookpot Cassarole, with Lid and Handles, Mica Clay

This micaceous clay lidded vessel is a cook pot for simmering on your stovetop or baking in the oven (even a solar oven!). Because of the natural inclusions of mica and pumice from this native clay dug in northern New Mexico, this pot has a high thermal shock threshold and can be used as cookware for delicious chiles, stews and simmered soups and bakeware for casseroles, layered gratins and oven baked stews. Shapely handles on each side make this pot easy to lift.

Beautiful on its own, the elegant shape and glowing mica of this vessel will enhance a mantle or bookshelf in your home or office. The fire cloud on this pot offer a sharp contrast to the tawny orange terra cotta clay and mica stars.

Sizes: 6.5" tall, 7" radius at rim and belly. Volume: 7 cups.

This is a GiftShipper Selection! I will gift wrap, send it directly to your gift recipient and include your personal note at no extra charge. Just mention GiftShipper in the Note to Seller when you check out and include the contents of your note.

This sparkling mica clay is handled with the utmost respect when it is hand-dug and prepared at Owl Peak Pottery Studio in La Madera, New Mexico.

I throw and trim my pots on my wheel, trim and smooth, apply several layers of mica slip, burnish it with a rock, fire it in my small natural gas kiln and finally, fire it in a wood pit fire. I make offerings and prayers with blue corn and white sage at every stage of the process of creating a vessel. Each vessel I've made seems to require from 8 - 10 hours of tender loving hands-on care, from clay to fired pot. It is signed with my potter's name Patch, and dated.

The fire clouds on this pot came from the final firing in a wood pit fire, when the burning wood makes contact with the clay wall of the pot. Each fire cloud is unpredictable, a true gift of the fire. This cook pot has beautiful fire clouds at the rim and around the body.

This clay is unlike any other clay I've known during my forty years as a potter. The mica has a healing quality, neutralizing the acids in foods cooked in it. "Foods cooked in micaceous clay pots taste better!" This clay has been used for cooking vessels for over 900 years in the Southwest. Mica has been used in Native American medicine bags for protection and thwarting negativity. I find its energy signature to be of an angelic being, named Micah, who has accompanied me on a recent healing journey.

Caring for your mica pot: I have seasoned this cook pot with a coating of virgin olive oil then baked it in my oven at 350 degrees for 40-60 minutes. Seasoning can change the color of the pot, but not dramatically. The color will become richer and more textured with use. Seasoning increases the life of the pot, seals it, makes cleaning easier, and enriches the flavor of food. Use only warm water and a soft brush or sponge to clean your pot. Soap will remove the seasoning. Avoid allowing water to sit in your vessel (or your vessel to sit in water) for any extended period of time. Wooden or bamboo spoons are kinder than metal to the interior surface. Re-season occasionally.

This pot can be shipped as a gift, and will include a bamboo stirring spoon as a complimentary offering.

I wouldn't dream of placing this pot in a microwave.

$135.00

Blessing Bowl "Calico"

Food can be a sacrament when cooked with Love, and served in Beauty. Holy Food deserves a mica clay blessing bowl. An elegantly shaped bowl luminous with mica and blessed with magnificent fire clouds, where no glaze chemicals were used. The clay is a tawny russet, infused with a constellation of mica stars. The smoke patterns from the final pit fire, are called fire clouds. A mica blessing bowl is mesmerizing as you gaze into the starry universe of its interior curve.

I have two of these bowls available at this time, each with a different fire cloud pattern. This listing is for "Calico". I named it Calico because it has three definite colors: tawny orange, smokey black and a golden glow. One of the fire clouds on the side seems textured like fur. It is a wonder to behold.

The other blessing bowl is named "Magma". They make a lovely set. Here is the listing for "Magma":http://www.1000markets.com/users/pattymara/collections/3076/products/71014

This is a GiftShipper Selection! I will gift wrap, send it directly to your gift recipient and include your personal note at no extra charge. Just mention GiftShipper in the Note to Seller when you check out and include the contents of your note!

Use your blessing bowl as a "one bowl meal" of salad, soup, chile, pasta and rice dishes, or for serving veggies or fruit. Mica clay is said to make food taste better. Because of its alkaline qualities, it balances the acids in foods, which is key for a healthy diet. Eating meals from mica pottery has changed my whole approach to food. Holy clay creates holy food.

Place your blessing bowl on your holiday and Day of the Dead tables. Use it as a "burning bowl" for sage and cedar smudges.

This clay a silky smooth blend of micaceous clay from new Mexico, the Land of Enchantment. I throw and trim my mica pots on my potter's wheel, then meticulously polish with a smooth rock to create a lustrous semigloss surface. This in essence takes the place of a glaze. No additional glaze is applied, making these pots amazingly chemical-free. After the pots are polished, buffed and fully dry, I fire them in my small natural gas kiln for about 18 hours to 1850 degrees. A second firing it in a wood pit fire creates the "fire clouds". Each fire cloud is unpredictable, a true gift of the fire.

I make offerings and prayers with blue corn at every stage of the process of creating a vessel. Each vessel I've made seems to require from 8 - 10 hours of loving hands-on care, from clay to fired pot. It is signed with my potter's name Patch, and dated.

This clay is unlike any other clay I've known during my forty years as a potter. The mica comprises up to 80%, and has a healing quality. Mica has been used in Native American medicine bags for protection and thwarting negativity. I find its energy signature to be of an angelic being, named Micah, who has accompanied me on a recent healing journey and will come when called.

Caring for your mica pot: I have "seasoned" this bowl with a coating of virgin olive oil then baked it in my oven at 375 degrees for 40-60 minutes. Seasoning will deepen the color of the pot, but not dramatically. The color will become richer and more textured with use. Seasoning increases the life of the pot, seals it, makes cleaning easier, and enriches the flavor of food. Use only warm water and a sponge to clean your pot. Soap will remove the seasoning. Avoid allowing water to sit in your vessel (or your vessel to sit in water) for any extended period of time. Wooden or bamboo spoons are kinder than metal to the interior surface. Re-season your pot regularly to keep it happy.

I wouldn't dream of placing mica pottery in a microwave.

$45.00

Hanging from sterling silver earwires, these dichroic yule trees shimmer from moonlit silver to swirls of indigo and aquamarine. They have tiny patterned green trunks.

I cut each piece of glass by hand, arrange them carefully with tweezers, place them in my tiny kiln and fire to about 1500 degrees, then let them cool slowly for a strong annealing. Each pair of earrings is a true original, where the colors of the glass shimmer with unique colors. The deep garnet red glass will glow when lit from behind (if you have short hair they will dazzle).

size: 1" glass, together with crystal and sterling french hook wire: 1.75" weight: .5 ounce each

This is a gift that will keep on giving. I plan to *Skid in Sideways*, my body totally worn out, used up. Chocolate in one hand, glass of Champagne in the other, hooting: WooHOO, What a Ride!"

An original collage with this sassy manifesto, hand lettered and embellished with luscious handmade papers, recycled gift wrap and candy bar gold foil. A perfect gift for the bohemian spirit on your gift list, or perhaps for yourself? This collage is different from the other two in my shop, because of the "glass of Champagne" instead of the glass of wine in one hand. Layers of dichroic glass create a breast plate of color and shine. She carries a a beaded staff with an antique pewter peace charm and a cluster of pearls and seed beads from her bumpy bead arms. Her dichroic lampworked bead head is crowned with a vintage lucite arrow.

Named after Molly Ivins, who never stopped working for peace and justice, and called on all of us to bang pots and pans in the street until all our soldiers come home from war. Wear her loud and proud on your lapel, bag or scarf. Be prepared for the COURAGE She carries and the BRAVERY She will inspire. She thinks with her heart and knows the power of compassion for all who are wounded by war. The greatest respect we could pay them would be to pledge no more wars for erroneous and misleading reasons; no more killing and wounding except for the defense of our country and our freedoms."
Custom Order Pottery of Terra Cotta Mica Clay

New Mexico mica clay is holy clay, infused with natural mica that glitters when burnished. I have been a potter for forty years, and finally I have found a clay that speaks to my spirit.

I will create a a single vessel or a set of mica mugs, cups, bowls, dishes, teapots or cookpots....especially for you. Contact me and let me know your heart's desire. Price will be determined based on the scope of your order.

Then I do a final wood pitfire to invite the 'fire clouds' to decorate the surfaces.

You may contact me through the "Leads" feature here, or email me directly: pmgourley at gmail.co

$1.00

Breast Cancer Clan Mother of the One Breasted Women

Breast cancer has created a new clan of women who stand by one another as they encounter the fears, decisions and challenges of surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. In the company of this tender sisterhood emerges a new Clan Mother for all women who have lost a breast, or two, to cancer.

This ceramic sculpture was created from paperclay, a combination of recycled clay and paper, glazed and fired to 1800 degrees and painted with ceramic enamels, then refired. Clan Mother wears a crown of pink glass butterfly beads, crystals, golden spirals and dichroic glass earbobs. Her missing breast is honored by a spiral of tactile dots. Some of my customers tell me that they use their Clan Mother as a keeping place for healing affirmations and prayers, placing letters and wishes inside the hollow of her body.

The 'clan of the one-breasted women' comes from Terry Tempest Williams' wonderful book *Refuge*, where Terry tells the story of the women in her family.

Colors: rose, raspberry, blues, purples

Size: approximately 10" tall x 5" wide x 3" deep

A portion of the proceeds of this sale will be donated to my local CodePink Women for Peace, for their compassionate activism supporting all children hurt by war.

$65.00

The gesture NAMASTE represents the belief that there is a Divine spark within each of us that is located in the heart chakra, acknowledging the soul in one by the soul in another.

NAMA means bow

AS means I

TE means you.

Therefore, Namaste literally means "bow me you" or "I bow to You."

To perform Namaste, we place the hands together at the heart charka, close the eyes, and bow the head. It can also be done by placing the hands together in front of the third eye, bowing the head, and then bringing the hands down to the heart. This is an especially deep form of respect. Although in the West the word "Namaste" is usually spoken in conjunction with the gesture, in India, it is understood that the gesture itself signifies Namaste, and therefore, it is unnecessary to say the word while bowing.

We bring the hands together at the heart chakra to increase the flow of Divine love. Bowing the head and closing the eyes helps the mind surrender to the Divine in the heart. One can do Namaste to oneself as a meditation technique to go deeper inside the heart chakra; when done with someone else, it is also a beautiful, albeit quick, meditation.

Namaste allows two individuals to come together energetically to a place of connection and timelessness, free from the bonds of ego-connection. If it is done with deep feeling in the heart and with the mind surrendered, a deep union of spirits can blossom.

$55.00

The poetry of Rumi has inspired us through the ages. This hand painted silk banner features a translated version of his timeless poem: "Out beyond ideas of right or wrong, there is a field. I will meet you there."

In this painting I placed two reaching hands, painted with the colors of a luminous sunrise to symbolize the new connections that may occur when hands and hearts reach out to one another.

Oak leaves circle the center panel, and sacred spirals anchor each corner. The silk has a sewn placket at the top for a sturdy dowel with wooded knobs, and is ready to hang with cording, decorative ribbons and lampwork glass beads. Perfect for your home, office, staff room, healing center, meditation corner or as a gift to someone you wish to honor for their presence in your life.

Size: approximately 20" x 24" high, including satin ribbon hanger.

A portion of the purchase price will be donated to my local CodePink Women for Peace, for their compassionate support for families of soldiers and veterans, as they wage peace in our community.

"This is a Giftshipper Selection!
Blessing Bowl "Magma"

Food can be a sacrament when cooked with Love, and served in Beauty. Holy Food deserves a mica clay blessing bowl. An elegantly shaped bowl luminous with mica and blessed with magnificent fire clouds, where no glaze chemicals were used. The clay is a tawny russet, infused with a constellation of mica stars. The smoke patterns from the final pit fire, are called fire clouds. A mica blessing bowl is mesmerizing as you gaze into the starry universe of its interior curve.

This is a gift that keeps on giving: I will donate a portion of the proceed to my acitve local CodePink Women for Peace.

I have two of these bowls available at this time, each with a different fire cloud pattern. This listing is for "Magma". There are tendrils of fire clouds that appear to be moving like molten lava around the rim of the bowl. "Magma" is a stunning dance of terra cotta orange, smokey black and glimmering mica stars.

The listing for "Calico":http://www.1000markets.com/users/pattymara/collections/11631/products/114421 will show you how nicely the two bowls relate to one another. They are kilnmates, born from the same litter of New Mexico clay.

This is a GiftShipper Selection! I will gift wrap, send it directly to your gift recipient and include your personal note at no extra charge. Just mention GiftShipper in the Note to Seller when you check out and include the contents of your note! Free Shipping included.

$45.00
