About the image:

Location: Once Cowgill’s Sign, Route 66 in Truxton, AZ

No longer Cowgill’s mini-mart, the Gas and Grub in Truxton has a sign out front that list all the towns in the classic, "(Get Your Kicks On) Route 66" song. The cars have been moved, but the sign still remains today.

This photo was taken during a winter storm with Black and White film. I digitally scanned the negative, printed, attached to backing board, and made it into a clock.

This refurbished general store no longer sells bread and other staples, but its vintage pumps, signs and cars make it one of the best stops along Route 66. The store feels like a small museum and sells cold drinks and Mother Road mementos, but the real gem of the place is the owner’s mint condition 1957 Corvette.
