When A Dream Job Lands In Your Lap!

The most amazing thing happened to our youngest daughter. We're all still in a state of shock and open mouthed awe. She's been cyber-stalked (in the best possible way)!!

For the past couple of months the art director of a 50-some year old costuming and lingerie business has found out everything she can about the artwork of our daughter, Trissa. This director-woman/girl (same age as our daughter) contacted Tris two weeks ago about working for their company as a designer. Once Tris realized this contact was not some loony scheme and she expressed interest in learning more, she was offered a job on the spot. This offer was given on the strength of the artwork displayed on her Deviant Art site and her own website! As a hiring formality, the company staff arranged for and the company paid all expenses to fly her out to LA where they set her up in lodgings close to the company offices. She spent three days there, where she met everyone in the creative department, attended a product photo shoot and soaked up the general tone and methodology of the company.

The absolute best part is that she will primarily tele-commute, staying at home to care for her baby boy while producing conceptual wearables drawings for this company. She produces 25 sketches per month (at an excellent pay rate) or more if she wants to, which is no stretch for this girl. By nature, she's a quick draw artist with a ba-zillion sketch ideas roaming around in her head. Every couple of months she'll fly to LA or NY to meet and consult with the art director and other designers.

We got a tickle out of this when she said, meeting the creative crew was like hanging out with a bunch of her friends. They're all under 40, have tats and piercings and dress creatively casual. DREAM JOB!!! As a parent, you pray for this type of good fortune to touch your children.

Take a peek at a few examples of daughter's art posted by this very proud mother. Please respect her 'all rights reserved' copyrights. Artworks are posted with artist's permission.
