RED ROCK - Handmade Copper Brooch with Lampwork

I started this brooch with this lovely artisan handmade lampwork bead. I love the way turquoise and copper go together. So naturally I headed for the copper wire.

This brooch is made with genuine copper. I've added a copper heart charm along with a Kyanite gemstone and a fresh water pearl. The brooch has been oxidized and tumbled for strength and polishing. This brooch is 3 3/8 inches wide and 2 inches tall. That's not counting the charms, they are 7/8 inches in length. All findings are copper.

AUTUMN HARVEST - Handmade Copper Brooch with Carnelian Gemstones and Swarovski Crystals

While we are still having temps in the 100's, I know most of you are starting to experience the first hints of fall. The fall season seems to be so soothing to most. There so many vivid colors, purples, golds, greens, copper and of course deep reds. Here we don't get to experience those colors, unless we go up north. But down here in the deserts we just have brown and then some more brown. Ok, I'm kidding, but we just don't have the luxury of those beautiful colors.

So today I made this exquisite brooch in honor of the fall season that is just around the corner. I started with copper wire, added Carnelian gemstones and topped it off with amethyst Swarovski crystals. The brooch measures 3 inches in length and 2 inches in width. It has been oxidized and tumbled for strength and shine.

Now, don't you think this brooch would look fabulous on your fall sweater?

HANIA - Turquoise Gemstone Earrings with Sterling Silver

"HANIA" is from the Hopi Native American tribe meaning "spirit warrior."

Being I live in the southwestern deserts, I am fortunate to see a lot of turquoise in jewelry. It is very common to own several pieces of turquoise jewelry, whether it be with sterling silver or copper. But for this pair of earrings I paired it with sterling silver. I used tube turquoise stone suspended on sterling silver wires. These are not oxidized, they could be if you want them to be. All findings are sterling silver. The earrings are 3 inches in length from the top of the handmade earrings hooks to the bottom of the earrings.

PINKIE - Lampwork Earrings with Amethyst and Garnet Gemstones, Sterling Silver

This pair of handmade earrings were fun to make. They are so bright and cheery, something every girl needs for her jewelry collection.

I chose these hot pink lampwork beads and paired them with Amethyst and Garnet muti-faceted gemstones. The talented glass artist, Lisa Holzer made these beads. The lampwork beads have a shimmer to them over the surface. They are 1/2 inch in diameter.

All findings are bright sterling silver. The earrings are 1 1/2 inches in length including the earrings hooks.

SUNSET - Handmade Lampwork Earrings with Fresh Water Pearls, Swarovski Crystals and Sterling Silver

This is a magnificent pair of handmade earrings. The colors together remind me of a sunset. There are greens, rose and golden yellow around the lampwork beads. The beads were made by the talented glass artist, Donna Millard. I enhanced their beauty with Swarovski crystals in the shade of crystal brandy. The fresh water pearls are a golden olive green. Very pretty, they show olive green in some lights and then a golden green in others.

The earrings are 1 3/4 inches in length including the earring hooks. The lampwork beads are just over 1/2 inch in width. All findings are sterling silver.

RED ROCK CANYON - Turquoise Gemstone Earrings with Copper

These beautiful earrings remind me of the drive up the Oak Creek Canyon from Sedona to Flagstaff. Shades of Sedona reds are seen in the canyon walls as they meet the beautiful turquoise blue sky. It is breathtaking! If you ever get a chance to take this drive, please do. You won't be disappointed!

For these earrings I used a Turquoise Rondelle Gemstone hanging from a beautiful Copper hammered ring. All findings are genuine Copper. These earrings are 2 1/8 inches in length including the earring hooks. The earrings hooks are a bit larger than most. They are 16mm wide and 36 mm long.

I really love the way this necklace turned out. It is so pretty that I almost kept it! But I guess I can't keep everything I make!

For this necklace I used Apatite and Aquamarine gemstones. The freshwater pearls are olive and copper. To enhance the beauty of this necklace, I added Swarovski crystals in erinite ab x2 and crystal copper. The lampwork focal bead was made by the talented glass artist Brandi Rosenberry. The lobster claw clasp, chain, bail and all findings are sterling silver. The necklace is adjustable, it can be worn from 15 1/4 inches to 17 1/4 inches.

BLACK TIE - Larvikite Gemstones with Swarovski Crystals and Sterling Silver

For this elegant pair of earrings I used Larvikite gemstones. Larvikite gemstones can be found around Larvik, Norway. They are sometimes known as Blue Norwegian Moonstones, Blue Pearls and even Emerald Pearls. They are a light to dark bluish gray stone and exhibits light blue flashlike reflections on some surfaces of the stones. The Swarovski crystals are black diamond ab, jet, white opal and shadow crystal abx2. The earring hooks and all findings are sterling silver. The earrings are 1 3/4 inches in length including the earrings hooks.
