Hand-built stoneware clay wall box has lots of texture! Naked textured clay is finished with iron oxide rather than glaze in the second firing.

The fiber study features dried rose petals along with blue plumbego and threads; all layered behind fine netting; quilted with 'invisible thread' and stitched into the heart cut-out.

Back is finished and wired for hanging or this piece can stand on its own. Measures 6.5" square by 1.75" deep.

Organic Fiber Study Vessel

Wheel thrown stoneware vase. Texture lines are carved into the vase and highlighted with iron oxide during final firing. Eight holes are made in the vase, used for stitching on the fiber study. Four different fiber studies were created by layering and quilting together, leaves, flower petals, seeds and yarns. The four were cut and joined to create a patchwork of studies. Genya cord (man-made leather) separates the four studies and shaggy yarn frames the completed organic fiber study. Attached with Genya cord.

This one-of-a-kind vessel stands 8.5" tall. As it does have holes where the study is attached it is not intended to hold water.

Bud Vase

Wheel thrown and altered stoneware clay bud vase has eight faceted sides and textured body. High temp wired is fired into the clay and matching hand-made beads are tied in place with Genya cord (man-made, NON-leather cord). A little attitude tilt to the neck shows off the glazed interior.

This little stoneware vase stands just under 3.25" inches; is fully glazed inside and textured on the outside. Attached is a matching stoneware star, tied with Genya cord, a man-made material.

Organic Fiber Study Wall Box

This heart wall box features flowers, seeds, leaves, lavender and Reese's wrappers!

The clay box is hand built from stoneware clay. Before the second firing iron oxide is applied and carefully wiped away in places to accent the patterns in the clay.

The fiber study is stitched in place with copper wire. Wired in the back and ready to hang. Designed for the wall, this box can stand if you prefer. It is standing for its photos here.

Nesting Pinch Bowls

Set of three handmade pinch bowls. Each bowl is pinched into shape from stoneware clay. The undersides are textured and accented with oxide during the second firing. Inside is food safe variegated blue/brown glaze.

There are so many uses for these little bowls .... hold your chocolate chips so they don't melt in your hand... serve relish, mustards and other condiments... hold paper clips, beads.... hold rings and jewelry... set out your vitamins for the day ..... three isn't enough!

Pond Bowl

This is a real mixed media one-of-a-kind bowl. I've created a pedestal bowl from stoneware clay; wheel thrown in two pieces, joined and carved. The outside is naked clay, finished with oxide in the second firing, to accent and highlight the carving detail. Inside is completely glazed. Genya card is stitched around the rim and attaches a clay heart, also handmade from stoneware clay.

Inside I've layered pebbles and set them in place with the same resin used in flower arrangements. I've added a second layer of stones around the perimeter that appear to be floating as the resin is clear and translucent.

The resin has a slight give when pressed and as your curious guests touch the surface to see if this is real water they may leave finger prints. But no problem, you can wash and rinse the bowl with soap and water to remove any finger prints. This pond bowl certainly will capture attention.

Features an organic 'fiber study' created by layering and quilting together fabrics, rose petals, pebbles and shell pieces. The rose petals are from Florida and the shells and pebbles were collected from the beaches of Gabriola Island near Vancouver, Canada.

Organic fiber study is tied to high temp nicron wire with Genya cord. No leather is used in my work.
