In my creative heart of hearts, I am thoroughly entranced with the idea that the human body is the ultimate exhibition space. amtextiles responds to this thrilling creative thought and combines it with contemporary Japanese shibori to make interesting, thought-provoking and textural art-to-wear.

Shibori refers to Japanese methods of preparing fabric that create certain designs on cloth after dyeing. In the contemporary textile art I saw while traveling in Japan, the majority of examples of shibori left the three-dimensional shapes that aided the traditional surface design in the cloth. I fell in love with the textural art-to-wear and started creating my own piece for the enjoyment of discerning customers.
