Studio 2n3d

Studio 2n3d combines both 2 and 3 dimensional art forms. I use the gourd as a canvas and the core of my mixed media work. I use fiber collage, hand-built art quilts, beading weaving, embroidery, pyrography and stain to create one of a kind vessels. I feel the only limits placed on my gourds are the limits of my imagination and ability to pull an idea off, otherwise anything goes!

It is not uncommon for some of my pieces to take up several months to complete. The average length of time I spend on a piece is around 20 hours.

The patinas are built up and taken back over and over until I have created depth and texture. All of the exterior surfaces are varnished for protection and often additional layers of colored glider's paste wax is added on top of the varnish for further enhancement.
