Triangle Pinwheels: The Bowl

Description

When the July challenge theme of "New Horizons" was announced, I wanted to do something different. I've made lots of jewelry items, and I've made some pottery. Recently, I branched out into beaded belts. But this time, I wanted something other, and so this little bowl was born.  

I created 18 individual peyote triangles, and then sewed them together to form the little bowl. You could use it to hold a few special large beads, shells, little wrapped candies, your rings while you sleep, or a myriad of other small and precious items.  

The bowl stands just over 1 inch (3 cm) high, and has a diameter of 2 1/4 inches (6 cm). The rim is tubular peyote attached to the top of the bowl. This bowl features 37 different types of Toho seed beads. Each triangle contains 2 unique colors, plus the matte black outline. The gold for the rim is also used in one of the triangles.  

While this bowl is well made with quality materials, it should be treated with care.
