Description

Egyptian revivalism at its glitziest!

Hamanaptra vividly portrays the ancient tale of the scarab god Khepri and his daily trek across the sky to pull the burning sun into position as its rays strike the whirling sand and the lovely lotus flowers drinking of the Nile. Feel the power of the pyramids reaching out to their gods. Look closely and the story unfolds before your eyes. For aeons the scarab god has kept his stately vigil. Now he is yours to pluck from the sky.

The main focus of the piece is the center bead that I found in Mancheya, the shopping district of Alexandria, Egypt. He is hand carved wood, with a faience finish and is set with Swarovski and Asfour crystals, pearls and thousands of tiny glass beads. Each bead embroidered in position and it is backed with leather for a comfortable, non slip surface that does not pull or snag.

Hamunaptra is 2 3/4 inches (9.5cm) wide and fits a 6 1/4 inch wrist (16cm)
