Cascade

Description

This one of a kind necklace drapes elegantly, from the flaring loops at the top to the fringe at the bottom. Sapphire blue and garnet red alternate along the length of the necklace. Czech seed beads were used in tubular herringbone to create this unique look.  

Cascade was created for a challenge themed "Hollywood Red Carpet Creations." I wanted to create something classy and elegant, while still standing out from the crowd. After a number of sketches in the margins of my notebooks, I came up with the concept for this necklace which, in my opinion, fits my criteria exactly!  

Cascade is 17.5 inches (45 cm) from the clasp to the bottom of the fringe. The center portion is 2 inches (5 cm) across, and solid. A brown focal bead folds the wide strip in half, creating a unique dimensionality to the piece. The clasp is a herringbone toggle and beaded loop. Each side of the necklace is 9 inches (23 cm) from the clasp to the top of the wide strip, where the sides meet in a v.  

This piece was woven with 8 lb fireline for extra strength and durability.
