Flora and Fauna Copper Enamel and Grossular Garnet Cluster Cup Earrings

Description

Hand formed "cups" or flowers of copper. Then enamel is added and fired. The color is first sated with a beige/Tan then several shades of greens are used to produce this color blend. Each cup is assembled with a tiny Grossular Garnet in my favorite mossy tone. I made the cups/flowers out of a thinner gauge copper so they are still lightweight. They are assembled using sterling silver which has been oxidized for a better contrast with the enamel.

Enameling is fusing glass to metal, in this case copper. Each piece is fired multiple times including the back to 1500 degrees.
