Okay - we all get stuck on things...one of mine was no red and orange together...but it sure works here, and if you don't like it, turn the pendant over and the red coral is gonzo!!!. This necklace is just over 16 inches and has 2 inches of sterling extension. ATl finishings are sterling. The double stranded necklace is made up of A+ quality amber chips and pearls...I really like this piece...and I think that you will too.

Superb pendant and nice necklace to hang it on. The necklace is 17.5 inches long with a sterling extension of 1.5 inches. all finishings are sterling. The pendant is just over 2 inches long, 1.25 wide, and .5 inches deep. The back of the pendant are two sterling leaves with no coral. This piece has great color and the excellant pearls really help to set off the turquoise.

Love this stone - but I'd never call it striped. In any case, great colors and the earrings are included. The necklace goes from 18 inches to 20.5. The earrings are about 2.5 inches from the top of the ear wire, and the stone is .75 inches itself. All finishings are sterling and this is really a nice set.

I am very proud of this necklace - it came out exactly as I pictured it before I began it, and that only happens rarely. It can be any where from 15 inches to 20 inches long. The shiny rectangles will stay shiny and the way that I added the chain between them helps the necklace to lie flat.

This is a conversation piece that any one would be proud to wear. It is hand forged and well polished and tumbled to smooth out the edges of the rectangles.

Every Sky has a Silver Lining (2466)

A while back, the talented Kristie Roeder of Artisan Clay asked me to create some special pieces using her beads. She wanted to use these as examples of what can be done with her work for her booth at Philadelphia Bead Fest this fall. Kristie had a good show and has returned these "samples" to me so that I can now offer them to you.

This one is admittedly a little over the top. But if jewelry can't be simple fun every now and again, what's the point ;)

Kristie's gorgeous cab is as blue as the blues New Mexico sky and it made me want to play...and so I created a cab around a cab: Several layers of stiff felt (in the middle) some ultra suede (on top) and some suede (on the back) provide the background to this doubly-peyote bezeled, off-center piece.

The delicas used are sterling silver plated. The nuggets in the chain are silver plated. The toggle clasp, crimp beads, crimp covers are all sterling silver.

This piece can be worn on the chain in 6 different placements (4 of which are shown in the mosaic shot at right). The medallion pendant could also be worn as an adornment on a belt, or with the addition of a carefully placed, large safety pin, it could serve as a brooch. The nugget necklace can be worn without the pendant as an impressive piece on its own as well.

Here's Kristie's description of how she creates her glass-fused pieces: "The Piece itself has been fused with Stained Glass during the Kiln-firing process. I have combined many kinds of glass (clear, opaque, milky, and different colors) The Glasses become liquid and bleed into each other in the kiln swirling ands blending at the edges. Finally as I cool the kiln the glass fractures and crackles but with a smooth glass top. The crackling refracts light and glistens in the sun."

Enamel Capped Pearl Drop Earrings - Kiln Fired Copper

Hand crafted copper cap is first hand formed then painstakingly enameled with several shades of blue. I call Faded Denim blend of enamel. A large pearl is then suspended. Hand made ear wires of sterling to match, twisted as if vines. As I was photographing these I thought to myself that they must be oxidized. So the last picture shows them shiny, as they first were.

Total drop from top of ear wire: a bit under 1-1/2"

Wide of cap: 7/16" (a bit under 1/2")

Just the Pearl drop including cap: a bit over 1/2"

Enameling is fusing glass to metal, in this case copper. Each piece is fired multiple times including the back.

Flower with Leaves Copper Enamel Bangle - 2-1/2 inch diameter - Kiln fired enamel

Strips of copper are formed- This is called anti-clastic forming. That is when a concave curved is formed then that curve is curved. All hand shaped by myself, blisters on my hand to prove it! I made this of heavier than usual copper and it is riveted for strength. It is important not to bang or twist enameled items. Since enamel is glass fired onto metal. After assembling the bangle I hand formed copper into the flower and leaves. The color speaks for items self...very rich and layered, so much depth. Numerous shades of enamel with more than numerous firings are needed to produce these color.

To measure for a bangle you make a fist and measure across the top of your knuckles from the first knuckle to the first knuckle (center of knuckle).
