Description: 1.25 inch diameter brown circle with the Wolf in the center. Made of hand cut hardened acrylic. Neck cord has a lobster claw “easy to put on and remove” clasp and is adjustable from 17 ¾ inch to 19 ¾ inch. Choker to necklace. Appropriate for men or women.

Inspiration:

The wolf moved silently without effort, but with great purpose. Wolf was alert to the smallest changes. Wolf was hunting... hunting for a human with a tender heart. A human who possessed the qualities of Wolf - loyalty, fearlessness, tenacity, compassion, generosity, and sincerity, Wolf could see far and had extraordinary hearing. It wasn’t long before Wolf found a few of these humans. Wolf vowed to protect and guard them from now until the end of time.

Origins: Wolf ancestors are said to have appeared sixty million years ago. They appeared across the globe, not in one specific area.

Symbolism: The Wolf reminds us of the importance of relationships, especially our family and friends and how closely woven family and friends can be. Wolf also reminds us that our friends and family, no matter how diverse or disturbing, have the possibility and capability to live in harmony. This is witnessed clearly when one of our friends or family is in trouble, somehow we forget all of our past disagreements and suddenly come together in strength for the survival of the whole.

Wolf also teaches us to be aware of everything around us at all times. To be alert, but not fearful. To use all of our sensual qualities. Our sensual qualities are the key to life. Whether that is singing, eating, mating, dancing, playing, or protecting.

Artist: Paula Bidwell of Native Talisman Art is an American Indian artist, jeweler and author. She is also considered an Indigenous Healer and spent many years on the reservation learning traditional healing and ceremony. She combines being an artist and indigenous healer into her art. Paula believes strongly that we are all related and there is very little separation between us. Her art resonates with all cultures and peoples.

Nautral Turqoise Cairn Necklace

These Cairns are another transformation of my Cairn series. Smaller and more simply stated than the Lariat Cairns, yet half-again larger than my Wee-Cairns! This size Cairn was inspired by a Gloria - a customer looking for something between the two existing Cairn styles.

Throughout the ages and found in all cultures, Cairns have been used for centuries as path markers and landmarks. I like to think that these simple Cairns can serve as reminders for the wearer of all the guides and path markers that are available along the way.

These Cairns are created using really lovely natural Turquoise, a favorite of mine. On this stack the largest stone on the bottom is 20 x 8mm and the Cairn is a total of 40mm tall including the loop at the top. It is accented with a rustic Copper accordion bead that I've customized and placed just below the Turquoise nugget at the crown.

The pendant hangs on two strands of waxed linen, measuring a total of 20" in length, not including the pendant. The clasp is a simple Mother of Pearl Vintage Button.

Cloisonne floral rose, green glass with raspberry accent earrings

These Chinese cloisonne rose flower and and Czech glass earrings are especially for lovers of flowers. The cloisonne is beautifully detailed and the green glass fairly sparkles as the light shows through.

Though a newer bead, the cloisonne was too good to pass up. The glass beads are both older beads from my older collection of beads.

Not-So-Wee Natural Turquoise Cairn IV

These Cairns are created using really lovely natural Turquoise, a favorite of mine. On this stack the largest stone on the bottom is 22 x 8mm, the large stone just above it is 20 x 11mm and the Cairn is a total of 46mm tall including the loop at the top. It is accented with a rustic Sterling Silver spacer bead that I've customized and placed just below the Turquoise nugget at the crown.

The pendant hangs on a double strand of waxed linen, measuring a total of 24" in length, not including the pendant. The clasp is a simple Mother of Pearl Vintage Button.

Tibetan Mala Bead Earrings with Labradorite, Moonstone and Amethyst

These lovely stack, drop earrings are another in my Mala Bead series. The Mala bead is one of my favorite design elements. I use it, or variations of this type of bead in many designs. It just wants to be paired with other beads and appreciated. It is salvaged from the remains of an old Tibetan Prayer Mala. Prayer beads of this kind have a number of different types of inlay and these are accented with chips of coral and turquoise and each bead is 10mm x 4mm. .

In this piece below the Mala bead is an unrefined and hand faceted Moonstone rondele followed by a simple hand faceted Amethyst rondelle. The Moonstone is full of surprises with glints of color flash here and there. It is a perfect pairing with the irregularly faceted and color-filled, flashy Labradorite rondelle that sits at the top of the Mala Bead.

The earrings are 18mm in total length from the bottom of the Sterling Silver earring wire and are strung with Sterling Silver as well.

Natural Turquoise Cairn Earrings...Descending

These small cairns are the latest transformation of my Cairn series and the first in earring design. Smaller, inverted, and more simply stated than the other Cairns, these small stacks are just right. I like to think that these simple Cairns can serve as reminders for the wearer of all the guides and path markers that are available along the way.

These Cairns are created using really lovely natural Turquoise, a favorite of mine. On this descending stack the largest stone at the top of the earrings is about 11 x 4mm and a total of 22mm in length as measured from the bottom of the sterling silver earring wire. It is accented with a sterling spacer I've customized and placed just above the Turquoise nugget at the bottom.
