A Patina of Love Necklace

♥ This heart necklace is handmade by my own two little inventive hands with tender loving care. It has a center copper heart which I have etched and then given a turquoise-verdigris finish. I’ve decorated it with a filigree brass flower that has blossomed with a center Swarovski crystal in light topaz. It also has a brass feather peeking out from the bottom of the heart. I’ve adorned it with long and beautifully detailed brass wings on either side. The chain is antiqued brass with an antiqued brass lobster clasp. The chain length measures approximately 16 inches to sit right at the base of the neck plus it has another 3 inches of extra antiqued copper chain on the end for lengthening as needed. The pendant itself measures 3-1/8” from wingtip to wingtip and 1-1/2” from the top of the heart to the bottom of the brass feather.

Desert Clouds

There is little more beautiful than the clouds in contrast to the desert. This was taken in Arizona and altered digitally for a soft serene effect.

I love to take photographs of water, trees, horizons, flowers, people and anything of nature. I also love photographing buildings, old vehicles and architecture. Then I use layers of various textures to add to the original photograph, thus altering it's original appearance. In the end it appears more worn, decayed, vintage-like and distressed. It is in the final product that my work comes alive. My favorite elements in a finished mixed media piece are utilizing color, texture and composition to evoke emotion and feeling from the viewer. I hope you appreciate my work as much as I appreciate doing the work. Thanks for your interest.

Illuminated Manuscript Botanical Collage Wall Hanging

Print of my original digital collage of antique illuminated manuscript and colorful botanical bellflower and butterfly decoupaged onto tin plaque with my randomly beaded and curled copper tone wire hanger mounted through copper tone grommets. Beads are iridescent and plain glass druk beads. Plaque is finished front and back with 5 textured layers of water based sealant and Ceramcoat satin (slightly glossy) varnish.

Companion pieces (tulip with dragonfly, iris with bird) are also available, and shown in last photo.

Plaque is 4.5 x 6.5 inches, hanger is approximately 2 inches high. Made to order; please allow 1-2 weeks before shipping date.
