Turquoise and Silver Gray Velvet Cloche Hat

This 1920's vintage inspired cloche hat is made from a silver gray crushed velvet fabric. I decorated the crown of this hat using a draping technique with a complimentary gray silk printed burnout velvet in a twining floral design. The leaves are colored in a mixture of olives and celery greens. The flowers and buds are in a dark turquoise, a mid teal blue to a soft turquoise. The hat band is made using a shimmering luminescent taffeta which has a color shift from turquoise to gray. I turned up the hat brim in a graceful fold and added a large handcrafted dark turquoise velvet flower encircled with a elaborate black lace and feather on the right side of the hat. For balance there is a small dark turquoise velvet flower on the left of the hat. The hat is lined with a complimentary silver gray satin.

This hat is 100% handmade by me using traditional tailoring techniques from the finest fabrics with consummate attention to every detail. Unlike many of my competitors, this hat is made without the use of a purchased hat frame. I promise you this hat to have a very comfortable fit. Many features of this hat are hand sewn including the lining and the fabric flower.

How to measure for your hat size. Take a cloth measuring tape around the back of your head and over your ears where you want the hat to sit. Have the tape meet on your forehead. Be sure to measure accurately to the 1/8". Please take your measurement several times to make sure it is accurate. A hat to small is uncomfortable and a hat to big will slide down.

This 1920's vintage inspired cloche hat is made from a dark olive green velvet fabric. A Sophisticated classic vintage style cloche hat with a 1920s era look. The fabric on this hat is just stunning. It is a heavy cotton upholstery fabric with a botanical theme. The fern pattern on this hat is a combination of several shades of moss green and pale mustard for the stems. The ferns are embroidered onto the light tan slightly textured fabric. I made this hat with a wide brim using a matching pale green faux suede fabric. The hat is trimmed with a floral bouquet in a mixture of tans and creams set upon a shimmering dark tan and mossy green taffeta band. The hat is lined in a complementary satin.

I personally create each hat one at a time, they are not mass produced and are made in a very limited quantity of each style. This 1920's vintage inspired cloche hat is made from using a hat blank covered with a lustrous dark gold luminescent taffeta with copper chiffon gracefully draped around it's brim. Perfect for that little black dress and an evening out on the town. The highlight of this hat is black netting embellished with gold sequins and metallic gold threads wrapped around the brim at an askew angle. Contrast was added to this hat with the addition of vintage style black lace appliques and sequined flowers. I have attached handmade chiffon roses in several tones of copper chiffon for that feminine look. I also added a flair of gold toned eyelash trim to give a sense of mystic and romance. This hat is perfect with that little black dress and an evening out on the town.

To dress the hat I used a combination of draping and scrunching techniques on the hat's crown. For color I added several hand made flowers in contrasting shades of burgundy, fuchsia and a pale mauve. The black embroidered lace which was placed around the crown adds a wonderful art noveau elegance to the hat.

This vintage style cloche hat has a tailored, yet classic 1920's art deco style. The fabric is a nape upholstery in a hop sack type weave with a scrolling abstract design in a velor velvet. A very stunning fabric to behold. The embroidered pattern is in vibrant colors of turquoise and olive green placed onto a pale taupe backdrop. I have used a luminous turquoise taffeta for the brim and band, made several accent flowers from a celery chiffon and added some scruching in the turquoise and a olive taffeta. The hat is lined in a charmuese olive satin.

This hat is made to fit a 21" to a 22" head measurement. I fell in love with this fabric and had to purchase it. There was only a very small amount of this fabric available and I can not make any additional hats in this fabric.

A soft creamy buttery background with a pattern of hibiscus and philodendron leaves embroidered unto this exquisite fabric in 100% cotton. I used a faux vermilion suede for the brim and added a lipstick pink chiffon band and floral flourish as finishing touches. This is my first hat in my spring line. Daphne Hat, Olive Green Felt

I used traditional millinery techniques to make this lovely hat. Both the crown and brim were steamed and blocked by hand. I sewed the two together and inserted a wire into the brim for structure. A hand pleated grosgrain ribbon band adorns the hat and is accented with a large chocolate brown wooden button. The olive green of the ribbon is lighter and a bit grayer than the deep olive felt of the body of the hat.

The Daphne hat has an interior measurement of 22 inches, or a hat size 7. This is suitable for a medium head. I've sewn an adjustable headsize ribbon into the interior of this hat, so it can be adjusted for smaller heads as well.
