Beach Glass in a Knot

This is a simple, but quite elegant pair of earrings. Heavy gauge sterling silver wire has been shaped and soldered into the shape of a knot (no mean feat). A small, oval shaped piece of white beach glass is suspended from the twist. The effect is that the beach glass is framed by the knot. An ear wire has been soldered to the back.

The earrings measure 1-1/4 inches from the top of the ear wire.

All of my beach glass is genuine and in its natural, unaltered state. I beachcomb it on the shores of Lake Erie and only gently clean it. Jewelry made from this beach glass is a wonderful example of making treasures from what once was trash!!

REAL SEA GLASS: The vibrant, aqua blue sea glass you see here was beachcombed by me from the majestic Pacific Ocean. I live and sea glass hunt in an area of the rugged Pacific that is called the "Pacific Ocean Graveyard" where hundeds of ships went down in the mid 1700's to mid 1900's. Each sea glass piece comes from my collection of a life of beachcombing; now fashioned into a romantic jewelry item.

NOSTALGIC VINTAGE: It's been tumbling naturally for at least 40-70 years. This color often comes from vintage, bottle glass that dates to the early 1,900's; likely from old canning jar glass. It's romantic just dreaming of where the piece originated from and what journey it's been on, now to be washed ashore in this serendipitous, gem like shape.

JEWELRY MEASUREMENTS & MATERIALS: The sea glass nugget measures about 1/2" long and has been carefully set by hand in and "island" of sterling silver. All silver, bezel and bail were hand cut, shaped, burnished and polished by me. It hangs on a .925 sterling silver, 18" snake chain with lobster clasp. The entire pendant measures about 1" long.

Red Rock Heart Necklace

Yes, this rock is definately a dark shade of red. And it is heart-shaped. Well, almost.

I don't know that I've ever seen a red rock before. It is also a very hard rock, as I found out when trying to drill it. Lake Erie must know that we will soon be celebrating Valentine's Day. I wrote about the beach glass hearts I have found there, and now rock hearts!

The rock measures 7/8 b y 5/8 inches. It ihangs from an 18 inch sterling silver ball chain.

Sea Glass Stone - Beach Glass Cabinet Knob, Drawer Pull or Furniture Knob - Small

Seaglass stone knobs bring an element of the shore to your cabinets and furniture. First, each glass stone is carefully hand frosted to give it the look of natural beach glass (although these stones are not natural, collected pieces). Then it is permanently affixed to cabinet hardware. The small high quality hardware piece projects 7/8" and has a chrome finish, It includes a standard 8-32 threaded 7/8" screw.

Each stone is approximately 1 1/2" across and about 3/4" deep, although each stone varies. These smaller scale knobs are perfect for those applications when a larger knob would overwhelm.

For this collaborative effort, Emily first creates each tile in her studio in Kent, Ohio. Nine beach glass hearts are the focus of this "hearts aplenty" charm bracelet. They are complemented with lace-patterned fine silver hearts. Pale green translucent beads and clear glass beads fill out the bracelet. Colors of beach glass are soft seafoam, ligt green, a rare olive, amber and white. Bracelet and lobster clasp are sterling silver. It measures 7-3/4 inches.

Emerald Green Pendant

A piece of antique, well frosted beach glass is the focal point of this pendant. It is light emerald green, with a wonderful translucency and all of the small markings that indicate its authenticity.

It is wrapped in square sterling silver wire in a style known as border wrapping. The wire ends create a series of spirals.

The piece of beach glass is 1-1/4 inch by 1 inch at its widest point. The total height of the pendant is 2 inches and it is on an 18 inch sterling silver snake chain.
